Sheikh Ahmed Tidjani

May ALLAH be satisfied with him

This companion was among the elite who acquired a great secret and many blessings from Seyyidina Ahmed Tidjani (may ALLAH sanctify his precious secret) as a result of their sincere love. He was also among those who had the spiritual opening (Fath) in this blessed tariqa: the inhabitants of Tunis bore witness to the perfection of his knowledge.

Sheikh Ibrahim Riyahi and Sidi Yussuf ibn Dhanoun El Bija-i Tounsi (may ALLAH be pleased with them both) shared a close brotherhood, mutual compassion and absolute friendship. Their hearts were united by the bond (“the rope”) of love in ALLAH both at times of ease and times of adversity. It is related that Sidi Yussuf ibn Dhanoun El Bija-i Tounsi (may ALLAH be pleased with him) attended the teachings of Sheikh El Islam Sidi Ibrahim (may ALLAH be pleased with him) but, at the end of the teaching, the latter said to him: O Master, you have no need to attend my teachings”, to which Sidi Yussuf ibn Dhanoun El Bija-i Tounsi (may ALLAH be pleased with him) replied: “No Muslims can do without you.

Abu-l-Abbas Sidi Ahmad Mazuni (may ALLAH be pleased with him) was highly blessed. He is among the greatest of the elite of the companions, those for whom God decreed His Support through attainment of perfection in sainthood and multiple prodigies.

He passed away during Seyyidina Ahmed Tidjani’s lifetime and was buried in the Awlad ibn AbdALLAH cemetery near to the gate “Bab Ftouh”. Illustrating the merits that show his high degree of Sainthood are the following words of Seyyidina Ahmed Tidjani (may ALLAH sanctify his precious secret) to his companions after Sidi Ahmad Mazuni’s burial: “Whosoever is in need and seeks to fulfil his need should take some of the earth from the tomb of Sidi Ahmed Mazuni.” ALLAH knows best.

Abu Abdallah Sidi Muhammad Salassi (may ALLAH be pleased with him) was an excellent devotee, majestically pious and blessed. The face of this rigorous follower of the path was illuminated by the signs of Spiritual Opening.

He received the Tariqa from the hands of Seyyidina Ahmed Tidjani (may ALLAH sanctify his precious secret) to whom he had abandoned all self-will and for whom he felt deep love; to such an extent that he could not bear to be separated even an instant from his master and that he abandoned his professional occupation in order to stay constantly in his company.

Sidi Muhammad Salassi (may ALLAH be pleased with him) was a silk maker. One day, his mother went to see Seyyidina Ahmed Tidjani (may ALLAH sanctify his precious secret) and said to him: “O Sidi, (these days) my son rarely visits me or all his children. I have come to request your help so that he returns to work.” When the audience with his mother was over and she had left, Seyyidina Ahmed Tidjani (may ALLAH sanctify his precious secret) called Sidi Muhammad Salassi (may ALLAH be pleased with him). He also called for bread, honey and melted butter, and having taken a small part himself, he offered it to his companion. When Sidi Muhammad Salassi (may ALLAH be pleased with him) had finished eating, Seyyidina Ahmed Tidjani (may ALLAH sanctify his precious secret) spoke to him of his worldly situation, saying: “Go and do your job , and only come to see me at the time of the Wazifa. Indeed, the wird (morning and evening Lazim) and the wazifa are sufficient for you. Do not leave your family dependent on others.”

Sidi Muhammad Salassi (may ALLAH be pleased with him) went back to work and from his place of work, he received the spiritual opening. Since then, he used to join Seyyidina Ahmed Tidjani (may ALLAH sanctify his precious secret) at the time of the Wazifa.

Sidi Muhammad Salassi (may ALLAH be pleased with him) was very modest towards his master, and as a result was unable to raise his eyes before him.

Sidi Muhammad Salassi (may ALLAH be pleased with him) died in 1271 of the Hegira, may ALLAH cover him with his approval.

Abu Sada Sidi Madani Sharaibi (may ALLAH be pleased with him) was among the companions of Seyyidina Sheikh Ahmed Tidjani (may ALLAH sanctify his precious secret) endowed with clairvoyant spiritual opening, steadfast religious practice and unquestionable spiritual unveiling. He was among the elite of the companions of Seyyidina Sheikh Ahmed Tidjani (may ALLAH sanctify his precious secret). He acceded to the spiritual opening within the Tariqa Muhammadiya. Sidi Ahmed Abdalawi (may ALLAH be pleased with him) had met him and observed numerous prodigies that go beyond reason.

One day, Seyyidina Sheikh Ahmed Tidjani (may ALLAH sanctify his precious secret) predicted: “You are going to live in Fes although Sidi Madani Sharaibi (may ALLAH be pleased with him) had no such intention. Indeed, this is what happened.
