General advice from Seyyidina Ahmed Tidjani (may ALLAH sanctify his precious secret) – Part 2

[…] Know also that the ocean of sins has covered our era, its waves have submerged us and its darkness has accumulated, to such an extent that the creature is incapable of extricating himself from it, except the realized truthful one or those close to his station, or those under the hold of the Divine Providence. Apart from these, there are only those who are unable to escape from sins. Such is the situation, and this by the decree of our Supreme Master – exalted be His Majesty. So, after performing and correcting his obligatory deeds, the sensible one must then deal with the expiation of his sins. These forms of expiation are numerous by the grace of Allah the Most High. Whoever performs them, and does so after making every effort to repel sins as much as possible, will reduce the pile of them. And he is better than the one who throws himself into sins without making atonement.

Allah the Most High says: “Good deeds dissipate evil deeds”. (Surat 11, verse 114)

And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said in the sense of his saying:
“And follow up a bad deed with a good one and it will be wiped away.”

This is the example of a person who regularly has sores on his body. He is quick to apply the appropriate medicine as soon as a new sore appears. Certainly, this is better than the person who, plagued by sores, does not treat himself and says to himself: “The treatments are of no use because of their profusion”.

You should know that every disobedience necessarily generates two punishments: one in this world and one in the Hereafter. As for the punishment in this world, it can only be lifted by one of two situations:

– The first is to give alms sincerely for Allah the Most High, with money that is lawful or considered lawful by the Law.

– The second situation is that of returning to Allah the Most High – glorified and exalted – in a state of pleading and beseeching, debasing and demeaning oneself, invoking Him in his request with an open heart, with a view to His absolution and in the hope that the misfortune linked to this sin will dissipate. If he does this perfectly, then it will be taken away from him by the grace of Allah the Most High.

As for the punishment in the Hereafter, it will not be removed and must occur, unless He absolves it – may He be glorified and exalted – with or without cause.

The causes of absolution are numerous. Whoever wishes to know them, should refer to what we have already mentioned as well as to the books of Hadith. As for the atonements, the greatest form of expiation, in terms of worth and importance, and also the most infallible in the cancellation of sins and faults is the abundant accomplishment of prayers upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), as much as possible. This is certainly the supreme treasure, the shelter and the most invincible fortress.
Therefore, whoever perseveres in its fulfilment, as much as possible, then it will certainly guarantee him the erasure of sins and faults. Its intercession for the one who performs it will be accepted by the Creator of the worlds.

Its fulfilment requires certain conditions:

– Ritual purity as in prayer (Salat), or at least purity of body, place and clothing.

– The sole aim should be the noble Face of Allah the Exalted, and the glorification of the value of Allah and His Prophet (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

– Its performance must be free from all the taint of ostentation and pretension.

If it is carried out in this way, its benefits are greater and more considerable than any good action, with a few exceptions. It has been reported, from an established source, that its recitation once is equivalent to four hundred expeditions in the way of Allah, and each of these expeditions is equivalent to four hundred accepted pilgrimages.

Moreover, concerning the bird created from a single prayer (upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him), Allah the Most High creates it and it glorifies Him with its innumerable tongues, all the reward is then attributed to the one who performed this prayer upon the Prophet (may the peace and the blessings of Allah be upon him). There is also what is reported in the noble prophetic hadith on the fact that Allah the Most High creates an angel from a single prayer, this angel then dives into the “ocean of life”, then he arises from it and shakes himself. From each drop it sprays, Allah creates an angel who asks forgiveness for the one who prayed on the Prophet (may the peace and the blessings of Allah be upon him), until the Day of Judgement.

Thanks to the prayer upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), one acquires ten good deeds and ten bad ones are forgiven, one is elevated ten degrees and receives ten prayers from one’s Lord, and each angel of the seven heavens prays ten prayers for the servant. This cannot be estimated at its true value. For each prayer performed, he also obtains a houri and a palace in Paradise, and all this is sufficient.

Among the expiations of sins is the performance of eighty prayers upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) during the night between Thursday and Friday, and during the daytime on Friday after ‘Asr. The eighty prayers performed at night atone for four hundred years of sins, and the eighty performed after ‘asr atone for eighty years of sins.

Among the expiations of sins, there is the “Prayer of Glorification” (Salat Tasbih) which is well known in the texts of the Hadith. There is no need to go into details about it. This prayer guarantees the expiation of all the sins of the servant, from the age of being religiously responsible until death, and indeed ALLAH is the Holder of Immense Grace.

Among the atonements for sins: the continuous recitation of the last verses of Surate El Hashr (The Exile). He who accomplishes it will expiate his sins both in the past and the future.

Among the expiations of sins is the diligent recitation of “Musaba’at el ‘Achra” both morning an evening. Indeed, for the person who recites it continually, no sins will be inscribed.

Among the expiations of sins is the regular recitation of “Hizbu Sayfiu” once morning and evening. He who recites it continuously no sins will be inscribed.

Among the expiations of sins is the invocation “Ya man adhhara el djamil…” It has been confirmed that this invocation expiates all sins and that for a single recitation, the person will receive a reward equivalent to that of the whole of creation.

Enough said on this subject.

I recommend that you distance yourselves from anything that might cause harm or prejudice to people, as well as from the search for their faults and shortcomings. He who is preoccupied with this will succeed neither in this world nor in the next.

I particularly recommend you to stay away from the following situations, which if ever a single one of them occurred for someone there is no doubt that ALLAH will let him die in a state of a non-believer and we seek the protection of ALLAH The Most High:

– Greatly harming other Muslims
– Excessive fornication without repentance
– Dishonest claims to sainthood
– Awarding oneself the status of Sheikh without having received authorization.
– Deliberately lying about the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) by telling untrue narrations.
– Giving oneself over to slandering and backbiting without repenting.

These situations indicate without doubt that the person will die a non-believer even if he has performed many great deeds, except if he repents, but he will finish his life in a state of unbelief if he persists in behaving this way up until his death. We seek protection of ALLAH The Most High.

I recommend you to purify your heart of all animosity and hatred towards other Muslims for the person who has these characteristics cannot succeed. I order you to keep away from having bad opinions of ALLAH and his believing servants. Indeed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has said: “There are two characteristics that are worse than anything else: these are having a bad opinion of ALLAH, and having a bad opinion of his servants.” […]”
