O Allah! Your forgiveness is greater than my sins
Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm
In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate.
O Allah, send blessings upon our master Muhammad,
the Opener of what was closed,
the Seal of what came before,
the Helper of the Truth by the Truth,
and the Guide to Your straight path.
And upon his family,
according to his immense worth and the greatness of his rank.

Verse on following the Prophet ﷺ
“Say: If you truly love Allah, then follow me;
Allah will love you and forgive your sins.
For Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
(Sūrat Āl ʿImrān, 3:31)

The Hadith
The Beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“Whoever revives my Sunnah truly loves me,
and whoever loves me will be with me in Paradise.”
⸻
A saying of Seyyidinā Shaykh Aḥmad Tijānī (may Allah sanctify his precious secret)
“All goodness lies in following the Sunnah,
and all evil lies in diverging from it.
What a false pretension, and what a misguidance it is,
to believe that one can dispense with following the Beloved Prophet ﷺ
and his noble Sunnah.”
⸻
The supplication taught by the Prophet ﷺ, and recommended among the invocations of the noble Ṭarīqa
by our beloved Shaykh Aḥmad Tijānī (may Allah be pleased with him)
A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, lamenting:
“My sins! My sins!”
The Prophet ﷺ said to him:
“Say:
O Allah! Your forgiveness is greater than my sins,
and I place greater hope in Your mercy than in my deeds.”
Allāhumma maghfiratuka awsaʿu min dhunūbī,
wa raḥmatuka arjā ʿindī min ʿamalī.
The man repeated it.
The Prophet ﷺ said to him:
“Repeat it again.”
So he repeated it.
Then a third time he said:
“Repeat it again.”
And he repeated it once more.
Then the Prophet ﷺ concluded:
“Rise, for Allah has forgiven you.”
