Importance of gathering for wazifa
Seyyidina Ahmed Tidjani (may ALLAH sanctifiy his precious secret) said: “If you knew the blessings contained in the wazifa, you would come, even if you had to crawl.”
The circumstances leading to these words are as follows: one of the brothers struggled with coming and going to the wazifa because of his age, the heaviness of his body and the distance from his house. In addition, it was winter; so he presented his excuses for this situation and these words were Seyyidina Ahmed Tidjani’s answer.
Zikr in congregation is more efficient and powerful in lifting the veils of the heart than the zikr performed alone. Each member of the group receives not only the reward for his own recitation but also the rewards for hearing the recitation of others.
He who abandons the group, will regret it in this world and the Hereafter because the blessings are in the group and the Hand of ALLAH is upon the group. If, in this group, a person is accepted and forgiven, then the rest of the group will also be forgiven because of him. The deeds of the group are as elevated as the heart of its most pious member.
In the book « Al Ifada al Ahmediya », it is written that Seyyidina Ahmed Tidjani (may ALLAH sanctifiy his precious secret) said: “If a person attends the wazifa gathering every day, no sins will be inscribed for him.”
Seyyidina Ahmed Tidjani (may ALLAH sanctifiy his precious secret) wrote to Sidi Mahmud Tunsi (may ALLAH be pleased with him): “As for the wazifa, I strongly warn you against neglecting it. Those of my companions who neglect it, have lost a great wealth that they cannot retrieve. It is better and more elevated to find the wazifa with other disciples in a group. If not, you must recite it alone but never neglect it. You must recite it once a day, and note that whosoever finds the recitiaton with a group of disciples but prefers to do it alone is wrong.”
